It's the end of March, official Spring in SF: the wild mix of sun shine and rain, wind and cold. The damp in the air is looking to make a home in our bodies; the question I've been asked the most lately is: "What can I do for this congestion I'm feeling? It won't seem to quit." Often times these are the people who love their yogurt or their cereal for dinner (don't get me started), but without making huge changes what do I prescribe?...
Here's a "kitchen pharmacy" remedy from Eat, Taste, Heal, my favorite book for all things:
*Should symptoms continue to linger or worsen after four days of use seek the help of a healthcare professional."For sinus congestion and general symptoms of the cold or flu, mix 1/4 tsp black pepper powder with 1/2 tsp honey. Take 3 to 4 times throughout the day."
This is so useful!
