Many, many, many times I have thought about starting this blog. I have loved Ayurveda since 2003 and been avidly cooking in a more cognisant Ayurvedic style since 2006. For ages, I've been taking photos of the food I've cooked for no other reason than, just because. :) I'm always emailing recipes for this ache and that cold, from this retreat and that dinner, why not keep them all in one place??
There were two catalysts that provoked me to quit my wondering and starting putting fingers to the keyboard:
- This coming summer (July 2010) I will finish the first year of my Ayurvedic studies program at Mount Madonna Institute and start counseling in Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle. One of the things that keeps me eager to come back to the stove/oven and give myself love via delicious healthy food is a constant stream of new recipes as inspiration. What a great thing it would be for my clients to have a semi-constant stream of inspiration as they embark on this journey into Ayurveda and all it's wonder! ta-da, the blog!
- Fran had a baby....Who's Fran, you're wondering? Fran is a wonderful Ayurvedic recipe blogger from Canada. Her blog (franlife.blogspot.com) is fantastic! She had a baby recently, however, and though she is very happy (or so we can see from her couple posts) she does not put up new recipes with regularity any longer! Motherhood, such a beautiful and demanding job. At any rate, I am sure Fran is making the most fantastic Ayurvedic mommy, but it seems that I must contribute to the blogosphere Ayurvedic recipes in her absence. I will do the best I can to follow in her footsteps.
Namaste*
